Who We Are

We are Tara and Tess Wesolowski and together we are Applegate Trail Rides.

Born and raised in MI, we moved to Southern Oregon in 2016. Tara stayed year round and focused on teaching yoga, veggie gardening, and exploring all the beauty that Southern Oregon has to offer. Tess came back every winter, between back country packing in Idaho, guiding rides into the Grand Canyon, and managing a corral in Glacier National Park.

We both have a lifetime of experience with horses, and it is our goal to make horseback riding a fun, comfortable, and memorable experience for everyone we take out.

Our Team

Our horses are sweet, gentle, and laid back. Well trained and experienced, they are suited for any level of rider. They love to hit the trail and are ready to take you out today!

Copper is a VIP member of our team. Sweet and calm this quarter horse is always a fun ride. Copper has a history of working with cattle, and being a kids horse.

Dolly is an all-star mule! This girl loves to hit the trail and has spent lots of time in the back country where she's spent hundreds of miles packing and riding.

Taco is a spunky Paso Fino horse. This guy loves to go! He was originally trained to be in the show ring, but that all changed when he came to us. Now he is a trail horse extrordinare!

Benny is a great Hackney/cross pony. He is a smart, gentle guy. He has a mysterious past, this little guy was a rescue. Time and time again, Benny has proven that he can keep up with the big horses on any trail!

Jasmine is our solid, steady, and stout trail horse. This lovely paint, quarter horse makes for a smooth and easy ride. She loves a full day of riding but likes her feeding time as equally as much :).

Our darling Clementine. She is a young, Tennessee Walker. Clementine is a cute, long-legged beauty! She is very trust worthy and loves to make her riders happy.

Book Your Ride

We offer rides at Pacifica, in Williams Oregon. This 500-acre nature preserve has 8 miles of trails that will take you through the woods and along open meadows, with stunning views of the rolling hills all around.

Requirements
You must be able to mount and dismount horse with minimal assistance, (we do have a mounting block to help you get on) hold reins and direct your horse, and follow the guide's instructions.

Weight Limits:

5'7 and below - 200 lb

5'8 and above - 220 lb

1 hr - $100/person

1.5 hr - $130/person
Lead line pony rides available for ages 5-7
