Who We Are

Hello! We are Tara and Tess Wesolowski, the dynamic duo behind Applegate Trail Rides.

Originally form Michigan, we made the leap to beautiful Southern Oregon in 2016. Tara embraced year round life here, dedicating her time to yoga instruction, veggie gardening, and immersing herself in the stunning landscapes that Southern Oregon has to offer. Meanwhile, Tess made it back each winter, balancing her time between backcountry packing in Idaho, leading adventurous rides through the Grand Canyon, and managing a bustling corral in Glacier National Park.

With a lifetime of experience with horses, our mission is to make your horseback riding experience not only enjoyable but also unforgettable. We strive to ensure every outing is fun, comfortable, and tailored to create lasting memories.

Our Team

All of our horses are well-trained and experienced, they are suited for any level of rider. They love to ride the trail and are ready to take you out today!

Copper is a VIP member of our team. Sweet and calm this quarter horse is always a fun ride. Copper has a history of working with cattle, and being a kids horse.

Dolly is an all-star mule! This girl loves to hit the trail and has spent lots of time in the back country where she's spent hundreds of miles packing and riding.

Franklin, our pony sized mule is great for children and small adults. He is very friendly and loves a good scratch after a hard days work.

Benny is a great Hackney/cross pony. He is a smart, gentle guy. He has a mysterious past, this little guy was a rescue. Time and time again, Benny has proven that he can keep up with the big horses on any trail!

Carmel is a Palomino Paso Fino mare. Her beautiful blonde mane and coat match her personality! This diva loves being out on the trail. She is the definition of bomb proof and a smooth fun ride.

Red is a sweetheart of a quarter horse. Tall, sorrel, & handsome he is sure to win over your heart. This big fellow is a goofball that can guarantee you a good time.

Our darling Clementine. She is a young, enthusiastic Tennessee Walker. She is trust worthy and loves to make her rider happy. Clementine is Tess's guide horse and is not available for guests to ride.

Book Your Ride

1-Hour Trail Ride

We offer rides at Pacifica, in Williams Oregon. This 500-acre nature preserve has 8 miles of trails that we will take through the woods and along open meadows, with stunning views of the rolling hills all around.

Requirements
You must be able to mount and dismount your horse with minimal assistance. We do have a mounting block to help you get on. You must be able to hold your reins, direct your horse, and follow the guide's instructions.

Weight Limits:

5'7 and below - 200 lbs

5'8 and above - 220 lbs

Ages: 5 - 75 years old

Cost
1 hr - $100/person

1.5 hr - $130/person

This is time in the saddle. We do account for extra time to get started and finished.

- Lead line pony rides - $75

-Available for ages 5-7

This is a great introductory experience to horses. Over the course of one hour, we'll spend about half the time riding on the pony. The other half will be filled with fun activities like learning about the horse, brushing, and feeding treats!
